Mother teaches to relate to the Form
Master teaches to connect to the Formless

Nourishment from the mother gives shape to the form to be born. Birth of a babe, the first relationship is the mother. Its the mother who teaches the baby to relate with other forms and thats called the relationships- father, grandparents etc. Infact its she who even teaches to relate with the parts of the form too. What begins as lessons from the mother to relate with everything expands in learning through various teachers as --the school teacher to all those who contribute in that learning. But the major break through or the ultimate benediction comes when one Realized Being in a human form takes you beyond the form and teaches you to connect to the formless. That is The Master! Transformation of an individual from relating to connecting is "The Born Again"-- The Real Birth of discovering one's own self. Tasting the nectar of Truth in That Realized Being flows to every tiny little creation. Then onwards just like the various teachers who had come in one's life, right from an ant to the wind can whisper the words of wisdom eternally. But its That Divine Being - The Master, who is the one who makes you take the first step of turning within. The mother may teach you the scriptures and to respect the saints but its The Master who makes you taste the nectar from those words of wisdom. Chanting and prayers gets transformed to The silence of the soul by the Grace of The Master. In prayer, one seeks God. There is two, the subject and the object. In meditation one realizes God within. Its oneness. The art of merging the seeker and the seen in that oneness is the highest teachings of The Master. If we say, "I love you Mom sooo much", what could ever be said to that millionfold mother, The Master except being abundantly grateful.

Yes Ruth. I shall visit your blog. Thanks for sharing.
mata-pitah-guru-deivam- thus goes an ancient tamil saying. The journey to the divine begins from parents, then the Master and finally the Master introduces the unbounded divinity around, full circle.

True..was remembering the saying while posting. Once Guru happens he shows the deivam within thereby liberating from bandam cycle --mata, pita..etc.
Silence of the soul is the best gift of all. I am happy to say I have discovered it but it was a painful journey of awareness.

Hugs, JJ
