~ Invisible Hurdles ~

Going back to the school days --memorable ones indeed with friends, fun and freedom except studies. Education system at times unknowingly instigates competitiveness and complex in the minds of the student. Scoring the highest marks and standing first is the ultimate expected from any student both from school and family. Worst is assessing the student from "On the spot" competitions. Then grading them as dull, good and intelligent. As students, they may accept their individual capacity and dont let their marks influence the interpersonal relationship as friends. But as they grow up, invariably you will find the influence of the mind playing havoc with the interpersonal relationships. You can come across in the working places, where each one has to express their talents and ability to bring out the best performance. Unaware of the hidden hurdle, one who has an innate ability to excel becomes an eyesore for the rest. Then the trouble begins silently seeping into their relationship too. What had no influence as children, with the mind developing(towards destruction) as adult, it affects. To minimize this, performing to one's own best and accepting the rest can certainly pave way to much more learning and arresting further dust from accumulating. Also, if the one who has the natural ability to excel is taught to play it cool, then the invisible hurdle can never creep in. To quote the Indian Spiritual Master Akshara,
"Realization not only liberates you but also teaches you to deal with yet to realize one"
A very important one indeed! can be inculcated from childhood itself --not just be a topper but remain as one with everyone. Its not about excelling but knowing to expose at the hour of the need and not always. It brings about the concern in every one around. Basically cheerful yet knowing when to laugh.

You speak of grading children. Its wrong indeed.
But invariably it happens

In this post you have labelled a spiritual Master as 'Indian' why so?
Isn't that a grading and a labelling too!! Spritual Masters belong to Noone and no Land, they belong to the entire world, yet you restrict him to a tiny space!

Grading and labelling Spiritual Masters -- ha,ha,ha....i thought they had gone beyond all the tests..spare them please from the mind concepts...
the Masters even after Realization still carry on with the form and its only for identification the name is used. Just because he is a Realized being, he cant refuse to identify himself as Indian in his passport unless he decides to fly no where even though he belongs to the entire world.
In ancient times, revelations of the Master's wisdom didnt even have His name. They were rarely exposed in the world of action and thats why a seeker mostly went in search of truth to The Holy mountains like Himalayas etc. In today's world, Master's are here and now to reveal the Truth of Here and Now.They do move globally. So to have clarity for identification( for those who need)the name goes. Identification is different from grading and labelling.
To be liberated from the form and all its identification is The Master. Why get stuck to it here also. Wisdom is His pulp. Choice is yours to get stuck with the name of the fruit and never taste it or identify the fruit by its name and eat and enjoy.
wish you taste the wisdom hidden beneath the cover, name....
See how nicely you escaped from facing the world by posting as anonymous...Truth fears none and faces everyone...

Hi Merging Point again. Just to comment back to your post, I loved school from the first time I sat front of the blackboard. My parents had always high expectations of me, and it was hard at times, because as kid and full of spirit sometimes I would engage into kids activities yet forget to study, but then it all would come back and I would be on track again. I never really was on the top of the class except in elementary school, I guess it was parents pressure. They relaxed in my further studies, so I relaxed back and have enjoyed my studies, yet having some of my own stress due to my own epxectations. Oh well it supposed to be short comment, and I ended with my life story, lol. Well happy reading, and thanks for inspiring me again, this is very interesting post and ideas you have posed again. Anna :)
