The ever ongoing topic of accepting everything as it is and discovering "who am i " happened with my friend who was mentioning how he has been really practicing this acceptance and doing all that he can to discover himself. At one point, i just indicated that the very fact that when one says he has to accept, that means, it obviously indicates that he has drifted and now he is trying to come back and accept everything as it is. The word, "drifted" in no time drifted my friend away from the topic of inquiry and made him share the story of a hilarious movie related with "driftwood". Though i tried once to point his drifting, his mind was gone until he finished narrating the story. I waited patiently for him to return. Now, what more can we ask for as an example for the ever drifting mind. A traditional hindu ritual that adorns every door step is kolam. Simple beautiful art that keeps the entrance bright and beautiful. The first thing done on waking up is to clean the entrance, sweep and mop, then draw this simple art form with rice powder called kolam. It is said that the reason why rice powder is used is to feed the ants which may visit. The significance of kolam brings in auspiciousness and therefore from simple to much elaborated, kolams find place in festivals, marriages and any occasion. Basically kolam consists of both dots and a line that connects them. Filling up the drawn patterns with various colours or flowers is done on special occasions to make it more brighter and beautiful. "Servant" is what the label the society has offered her for all the great help she does in completing the household chores. To me she is just another extended member of our family.... may i call it as sheer blessing, when she happened to step into our home and asked me if i need a servant. Quiet and clean work is all that she offers. she never gave me a chance to point out any work to be done or even redone, rather left me wondered the way she moves around with work and leaves me filled with immense gratitude. when i offer the cup of coffee everyday morning as soon as she comes, the time she spends drinking that coffee is a moment to watch...an unusual calmness and simply being total with that drinking. she is in no hurry to gulp it down as many who belong to her community may do. today, she surprised me even more, when she picked up that cup of coffee and walked to the living room balcony which has a wonderful view, spent those few, yet quiet moments sipping the coffee and ...

Had a list of things to cover and we left home to the library first to return some books and bring home some important book. Just as we were entering the library, the person realized that she forgot to get the access card. So that means , no borrowing only we can return. Still, she approached the counter and asked if she could take the books against her membership number and politely came the answer, no. So, we couldnot borrow what we had planned to bring. As usual, laughing at the silly mistake of not checking it out , we proceeded to the next important work, filling up the gas for the car as it was minimal. On our way to the gas filling bunk, we had encountered almost an accident by the unruly bus driver who was atleast sensible enough to apply his brakes and it came to a halt so close to the car. SEASON'S GREETINGS TO THE ENDLESS SEASONS.... Human race, probably, has been the only creation that created occasions to celebrate. Probably, the so called development of the mind somewhere lost the innate nature, celebration. Watch the flock of birds flying and it resonates the feel of celebration even though they are just flying to some other destination. They don't need an occasion to celebrate . They are simply living in their original nature and that is celebration. It is okay, we have created occasions to catch up with the essence. But then, are we truly living in celebration? have we made use of the occasion to revive the essence of celebration and allow it to remain as an integral part of our nature?
