~ Choiceless choice ~

Inspired by a blogger friend's post, here i am expanding on the subject. Do we really have a choice to choose the kind of people with whom we are more compatible? if only we can, how lovely it would be, may say the minds of many. Starting from the worldly relationships to the spiritual associations, it is a battle that goes on outwardly or quietly suppressed within. What is the cause for this? a very simple reply,"DESIRE". desire chases satisfaction and satisfaction chases desire. End result, engulfed in the flame of self- centeredness . Any association with such a virus is sure to have its effects. Fever, commonly encountered by almost everyone is a classic example. The virus affected body and mind can represent a thousand shades of reactions and responses. Some people are totally engulfed by the flame of the virus and they lose their own self. One may even have to wonder, just a fever and this person looks like as if he is in his death bed. It is a clear sign of the min...

~ Intellect~

Let us a take a look at the transformation of a simple metal plate into a knife. The metal plate when processed through various stages gets shaped into a sharp instrument used primarily for cutting etc. Have you noticed, the process doesn't get completed in just sharpening the blade. It takes a complete shape only when a wooden handle is provided on one end. The one edge of the sharpened blade gets fixed into the wooden case, thereby, providing strong and comfortable access to the usage of the instrument. Left without a wooden case to hold, the blade still remains a sharpened tool but dangerous even to the user. Try holding a sharpened blade and make use of it. May be, your hands would bleed first even before making use of it. When looking at the mind, intellect and its connectivity to the Self, i felt it is easier to understand and relate it with the example of the knife. Intellect, as a sharpened blade is essential to discriminate, execute. It becomes a dangerous tool only when i...

~ The Blackboard ~

The official learning in human life begins with the entry into school even though , the child is exposed to various factors of known learning at home and unknown learning at various incidents. The blackboard is the major tool used for teaching. Written, erased and retained to explain the various aspects of learning is what we come across with the blackboard. But, before beginning to use the board for any other purpose, you would have noticed that the date and the day are the first most written or corrected. The teacher ensures the day and date are written correctly and then proceeds with the new lesson or continues with the previous class. When we relate this with our life, it tends to teach the basic of learning, to remain in the present, here and now. Mind used as a vital tool for learning as the blackboard needs to be brought to the present moment and ensure the date and day are written as here and now and then the learning begins or continues. The next step followed as in the bl...

~ HarmonY ~

Moving from the Interpreting mind To the Integrated Self is Harmony The very word resonates a sense of completeness. From childhood, we have learnt the meaning of the word as "there is no flaw and everything is perfect". Also, we are taught to relate this beautiful word to the outside -- people and situations. Rarely, we come across to relate to the significance of the inner self . when two people are found to share a non-complaining and satisfying relationship, then we address them as someone who is in harmony with each other. Mostly, harmony is used to describe two entities that share the platform of comfort ability . Be it nature, people or situations -- it is always with something other than one's own self wherein the word finds its usage. When such a division arises, it is a clear indication that the mind comes into play. The mind is too good in interpreting and defining it with wonder words. One just needs to be smart to know the mind and move to the next zone, The...
