~ Form --LESS ~

A piece of marked open territory on earth becomes a purchased land and the space within supposedly belongs to him also. When walls are constructed in that open space, it takes the shape of a building, the windows are created for light and ventilation, the door for guarding the inside and also act as an entry and exit point, the lock on the door to protect the house and its inmates from burglary etc.

This transformation of an expanded open space becoming a house is contributed by the walls that limit the space, the windows to let limited light and air, the door that limits the entry and exit and the lock that decides the entry or exit. Altogether , it is a mini limited space to live and also it is the springboard to jump into the unlimited, the vast expanse.

This body resembling the limited space of constructed walls, the senses to the windows, the mind to the door and the lock to the intellect may probably help us to understand this house and its operations better. We do need this house to live, but to experience the richness of our own home, the source, the unlimited, one needs to move beyond all the limited faculties. In fact, one learns to appreciate the house much more, understands the importance of keeping the faculties free from dust and knows to make the best use of it too.

The open space has no door and hence no lock too. But, the main door, mind has a provision for the lock, the thoughts. The key to lock or unlock is the detached attachment with the thoughts that flow. As long as we exist in this body, this key is also equally essential to have the functioning go smooth. Knowing when to attach(lock), knowing when to detach(unlock) helps in the easy entry and exit.

Blessed are those who have the house to experience the home within! Let us be grateful to all the Great Masters...

merging point,
As people grow to realize they limit their faculties, they are confronted with the choice to change or not. People can be silently grateful for the Great Masters and also choose not to change themselves. The motivation behind one's gratitude and one's basic understanding of gratitude are shaped by everything, whether or not a person is aware.

I am grateful to you for this wonderful analogy. Excellent, yes we must understand that our limits are all a creation of our own and this house which we reside in is simply that a house, form, that which we can and ultimately will transcend.

Thankyou Mark! In India, there is a famous temple which has the expression of form and the formless depicted so well and placed side by side to bring forth this wonderful insight.
Merging Point, what beautiful wisdom you have shown me!!! Your imagery ROCKS when comparing the human experience to other elements.

Hugs, JJ

Dear Rainer, the door is the mind and the lock/unlock is the attached detachment using the intellect.
Thankyou and welcome!

Merging Point I just love this post. You nailed all the key points. Unlock and lock that is like having control of our mind and body, and not others control us. Excellent. Anna :)
