Support - The port that facilitates in helping one to anchor to one's own Self.
when a tender shoot springs from soil, it is necessary to give the right support until it can stand firm rooted well within. The roots go deep down into the soil and remain firm. Well rooted within, the tree above stands tall. Similarly, one looks for support especially in times of crisis. Actually that is more of dependency and not support. The real support is the one which enables you to find your own strength. Wisdom from the enlightening beings enable that external support to anchor one to his own Self. Its there within but one even needs a support to show that strength. Search for the source. Nourishment drawn from within is supplied to the tree above to face the weather(world).
Very few only search for that support which can show them their own in-built system. Interestingly, it happens at a very late stages of life when battered and shattered by the worldly happenings. If someone is searching for such a support at a much much younger age, why not the elders too? Its not the age of the body but the state of the mind which seeks. Younger body can only be an additional support to facilitate the process.
Its not only important to make use of the right support but equally important to ensure to extend that right support to wherever one belongs -- family, friends etc.

Merging Point, well said. I see cycle of life - we need support at the beginning, then we are able to support ourselves, then we support others. As much the adults/elderly need support from those strong ones, they are actually supporting us by giving us a wisdom of life. I really enjoy reading this post of yours. Anna :)

Wow... you always share such insightful musings on life... they are much appreciated!

Thanks for the compliment on my photos.

With warm regards,

When an adult doesn't receive the right kind of support it is crushing to the soul and gives our self-esteem a big hit. Adults can be even more fragile than children. I think that's why we see all of the violence.

Super post!!!

In a way, I think those of us who face adversity early in life, realize how we must learn to find within ourselves and rely on, inner strength. It's very hard to get what we need from the outside, so we have to learn to give it to ourselves. When we DO get it from outside our selves, it's a special blessing. Just my opinion....

You make such wonderful metaphors in your posts, merging point!

true Lynda! Adversity is only a diversity to to turn within.
Young in body, matured in mind was instrumental in silently contributing to this post. conversations get expanded into contemplations and some find a place here.
