~ Birthday ~

-
Date -- same as every year -- Soul
Day -- Changes, need not be the same -- Mind
Year -- constantly changing -- Body

Birthday -- to practise atleast once a year to remind oneself to be grateful to existence for this form without which the possibility to drive on the road to Realization becomes impossible. A day to remember and remind to be aware of the changeless Soul amidst the constant changing body and mind. Its a celebration in itself. That which is born meets the death too leaving behind That which is never born too. Every moment has its own birth and death happening simultaneously. Every thought too has its beginning and end. Life full of events is a burst shot! Appears to have sequence yet has its own single frame. Unlike a birthday where all celebrations come to a close at the end of the day, let it sustain as an everlasting celebration, afterall its the celebration of the Soul!

Wonderful commentary that gives the idea of "Birthday" much more meaning than the meaning we usually attribute to it: cake, singing, and gifts... Which have no meaning other than indulgence, if we are not truly thankful for this life and the miracle of soul and conscious Being!
