So neatly and well placed to cross over the gutter, indeed is a brilliant idea.

Contemplating on this picture with life, many broken doors as relationships, career growth and so many aspects in our daily lives can be related. Anything that doesn’t fit one’s desire can turn into a broken door. Invariably it gets closed and sometimes gets discarded too.

How about turning the same closed broken door to a bridge in whatever situation one is in. For that to happen, the first thing needs to be an emotional disconnect. One neither has to be in love nor needs to be in hate but to simply be grateful to what it had been and to what it can be now. It’s not about an utilitarian mind set but to just look at it as it is now. When that happens, sometimes it may have to be discarded with no regrets and many times probably it can become a bridge to cross over and go beyond the limitations of one’s mind set.

Meditative state indeed is a boon to realise the divine beauty in everything around us. Its often said, "Flow with the river or Be the flow". Pondering a bit on the phrase unfolds the journey of a log in a river. A log thrown in a river has no choice but just flows the way the river takes its course. The fact is it may not really take the entire route of a river for it can get stuck between rocks or anything can happen. There is no mind in the log to think and there is no intellect to discriminate the situation and become aware of the present moment. The log is just fine if it flows or if it is stuck for both makes no difference to it. But, not so with the human being.

A human being cannot be like a log for it is blessed with the mind that can be aware and decide. Imagine a human being given a log of wood which he converts it into a boat and uses it for his journey in the river. To tune into the flow(force) of the river is truly flowing. When grace bestows such tuning, the journey of awareness starts to flow. One becomes aware of the rocks to avoid or even if stuck knows to deal with it effortlessly. Unlike the river, this journey of awareness has no definite destination but just continues as the divine ride until death knocks the door called Life and enters in and life simply exits gracefully.

To tune in as the flow or be the flaw, let us ponder.

When you had to get your leaking pipeline fixed, lets say, your friend or neighbour says there is a plumber who can do it and gives you the contact number. You may verify his credentials from your friend and choose to contact him. When you tried calling him, for whatever reasons, the call doesnt get connected. But after some repeated calls, you do get connected, speak to him and get your leaking pipeline too fixed.

Now, if someone who had called and could not get connected says, "there is no such person at all", we can only call it as his experience but can not deny the existence of such a person. Similarly, for someone who is not in need of a plumber and denying the existence of a plumber itself totally, once again, indicates just the ignorance.

Seeking God is somewhat similar. Until, it becomes your own realization, no matter what others belief or trust is, its not yet yours. But, some people, totally denying the existence of God in the name of non-verifiable is like unable to connect or yet to find the need to connect and hence deny it totally.

Unlike the plumber who is yet another form, connecting to God or consciousness(never disconnected ofcourse) is not with yet another form but the very basic force that has become this form. Internal connectivity as grace re-establishes the entire connectivity not just within but outside too.

There can be no space that is beyond the domain of the divine. Space by itself is backed by consciousness. All that one feels lost or disconnected is purely because of the clouded mind and once grace brings in the wave of clarity and awareness, the stillness shines as silence.

The ever ongoing topic of accepting everything as it is and discovering "who am i " happened with my friend who was mentioning how he has been really practicing this acceptance and doing all that he can to discover himself.

At one point, i just indicated that the very fact that when one says he has to accept, that means, it obviously indicates that he has drifted and now he is trying to come back and accept everything as it is. The word, "drifted" in no time drifted my friend away from the topic of inquiry and made him share the story of a hilarious movie related with "driftwood". Though i tried once to point his drifting, his mind was gone until he finished narrating the story. I waited patiently for him to return.

Now, what more can we ask for as an example for the ever drifting mind. Moment it knows that one is making a move towards the source, the mind would trick with all its cleverness to pull back the person. Strangely, once again, when it settles down a bit, starts to hunt for the permanence and goes around trying to accept everything. What a hilarious and strenuous game.

When do we need to accept something? Only when we see it as something else other than what it is. Its like dismantling the hands and then fix it back everytime to work fine. How stupid it can be. Hands are just a part of the body and it is totally in harmony with the rest. There is no acceptance from either of them. Only if it is dismantled, then the body once again has to accept the hand when it is fixed back. If body doesnt accept, then the transplant procedure with any organ, heart or kidney or anything gets rejected.

With mind, existence has been so gracious waiting patiently and accepting it so well whenever it has come back from its drifting spree unlike the body which may or may not accept. When it is Nothing, what is even there to tune in unless you remain to be something and then try so hard to tune into nothing.

Nature forever in harmony neither drifts nor accepts but simply remains as nothing. The lotus flower blossoms in the slush and doesnt crib or demands only a fragrant pond to blossom or even claims to have accepted the slush. But, we human beings never miss a moment to complain about this world.

This present moment is the most precious jewel to be adorned, doesnt dazzle like diamond for everyone to see but bestows the greatest fulfillment that no diamond can ever come near to it. Awareness is that string that holds the present moment and Nothing is the best jewellery of the divine. Grace is His shop to seek.
When someone who was religious and believing in God happens to explore the terrain of spirituality invariably comes across some hilarious incidents, especially from the strong believers of God. One such moment was from a christian priest. Though a good hearted man, he could not relate or understand or accept that a believer of god cannot forsake Him.

Out of sheer wanting to understand the logic behind it, he asked me, "How can you leave God?". I could only afford to laugh silently within me because i know its arising out of ignorance and there is a genuine wanting to know. I replied saying, "Who can leave whom?. Is it ever possible for such a thing to happen, me leaving god or god leaving me?". After explaining, he atleast did not defend his staunch belief concept but was willing to peep into such possibility. Ofcourse a rare few only do that.

As a kid, we never knew that we had a heart or for that matter any organ as such. But, as we grew up, at a certain stage, we either studied or someone in whom we trusted said we have a heart and we live only till it functions. Moment it stops, we are dead. So, we believed that there is a heart and it is the one for us to be alive. At various levels of growing up stages, we started to gain more and more knowledge about heart and experience it too. Now, as adult, we no longer ride on the wheels of belief. We simply know it as a part of us. That does not mean we deny its existence. We neither believe any longer nor we deny. There is something beyond these two, believing and denying and probably, we may call it as realizing the presence of heart and its vital function related with our living. They are simply intertwined.

Probably i could only relate this example to some extent of someone moving from belief to Being. In believing, you separate yourself from "That" which needs to be believed. In Being, you realize "That" which was never separate and you are just a part of "That". Belief is based on someone's experience. Being is your own realization.

In the example of heart and myself, where the heart has not become you but just continues to be a part of your body, But, when it comes to God and you, the belief would always keep you separated. In realizing, the beauty unveils the truth as it is God who has become you and hence you remain just being. Where is the question of you leaving God ?

Divine grace in the form of Guru as awareness unveils the Divine play. You simply abide in gratefulness.

Journey to everywhere or anywhere begins with filling the fuel. Contemplating further on this "Fuel" and relating the "Journey on road" to 'Journey to nowhere", it is quite interesting to note certain insights.

Undoubtedly, the vehicle would not move an inch with out fuel. But, have you thought, just by filling the fuel does the vehicle move?. No. It is in the burning of the fuel which gets converted into energy and enables the movement of the vehicle. That clearly indicates that the stored fuel no longer remains as it is but only in its burning, the energy is gained.

Relating the same concept with fuel to knowledge, one can see the insight. Just as knowledge stored, there can be no application in this world as wisdom. Just as the fuel tank, the mind too stores it as knowledge and probably, the human being is referred to as a scholar. Only when knowledge is applied and converted into wisdom, the journey to nowhere happens. Till then, the mind is only a store house.

Application as awareness may probably be related to the man on steering. Simply sitting on the seat is not going to lead one anywhere even if the tank is full. Likewise, if the mind filled with knowledge if not used rightly can meet with an accident and land up else where than the destination.

Every stage of this wonderful journey reveals the importance of every stage until there is no more but just be ! Journey goes on ...

When you are an idealist
The whole creation contradicts

When you are a realist
The whole creation compliments.

So, one thing is glaring on our face called perception. In both, the creation seems to remain same. Thankfully, we have not divided different creators for the difference in creation, so one creator solves the dispute.

Idealist - It is not that he doesn't belong to this existence but some where because of all the experiences in his life is either condemning or expecting an ideal world, the imagined world in his mind. He may call it even as oneness according to his imaginations.

What he may probably be missing is the understanding that, this world is complete by itself and hence, no matter however hard he may TRY, he can only have it in his imagination and that can never be a reality.

Once it is evident that it is just a dream, all the building blocks just crumble down and once again, finds himself holed up in the well of emotions. Emotions are the greatest impediments in knowing the truth, if one gets influenced by them.

What happens with a realist ? Does he have a royal ride ? Invariably, it is the other way around. He may have had his own share of all the unpleasant experiences. He probably doesn't succumb to the effects instead uses them to switch on his exploration of the mind.

Lucky enough and blessed, gets guided by the guru. That brings about the turn as meditation and realizes the stupidity that was nurtured by him to see an ideal world when everything is complete by itself. This is when, once the scary and contradictory world would suddenly shine complimenting and complete in all its grandeur.

Sign board -- Pointer for a direction or a just a word to describe or simply some jumbled meaningless letters ? Seem to be ringing different bells to different people though it is just the same one word or a sentence.

May be, it is just not about the pointer but also the one who sees it. For someone as a passerby, it would come across as meaningless if that person has no clue of it. For someone in search of that place, it would be a great aid. For someone who had known the description of the word but not looking for its destination, it would just be an additional information. For someone who is blind, the pointer itself doesn't exist.

One of the most vital aspect, for someone who is loaded with information and description of words of that place of search can be totally misguiding if the pointer does not have the exact word of description in his mind bank. In all probability, he would simply rule it out as a pointer to some other place unless he is open to enquire and explore.

If this is what can be for the senses, wonder how much more it can get complicated for something which can not be understood by the senses but can only be realized. The only consolation is no matter where and who and when it is, everything is already in IT, so nothing is out of place but only a part.

How can one possibly deny the existence of divinity no matter what it is ? Claiming something as the destination and denying the rest is just nothing but ignorance. Isn't it not the journey by itself and not some unknown destination ?

Whatever seem to have contradicted in creation turns out to compliment each other and there is nothing more to add or delete. Just the perception differs when true awakening happens to the ever throbbing divinity as creator, creation and the rest.

As a confused person, the pointer, as words of wisdom acts as a trigger creating a ripple in the mind of concepts and when contemplation unfolds and clarity bestowed, the ripple settles as crystal clear mind. As awareness, the stillness of mind starts to reflect as it is....

What might have begun as a journey doesn't have a destination but continues as awareness.

Abiding in gratefulness, awareness continues..........

Looking at one of my display pictures, a friend of mine asked if it was that fragrant jasmine flower. I told him, "Yes, its one of those intense fragrant variety". It was news to me though its been there for a longtime and i am familiar with this flower from childhood, i didnt know about it.
I immediately brought one flower from the pot and was surprised to see i could separate them. The exploration didnt stop there and noticed that one more level could be separated and yes, finally there were three levels of individual flowers. It appeared as Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva.

Each separated one was complete by itself as a flower and yet, all three so beautifully connected in one and created as one fragrant jasmine flower. Amazing are the creations of the creator !

Now, the beauty is the ignorance and the pointer that reveals the creations game. Simply believing it as just one flower and never ever had gone closer to inspect and explore, one tends to live in the illusions of one's own mind's projections. The trust in the friend's saying, him acting as a pointer leads to self exploration and discover the already existing truth. What a beauty !!

I could connect this live example only to my beloved Master and relate to the unfolding of truth. How so ignorantly we tend to get absorbed in our own beliefs and never even explore. Cemented in our beliefs, we prefer to lay there in the graveyard. Few with their availability to his grace, when pointed by the Master, explore the terrains never been tread before.

The joy of gratitude brings in the brightest smile with no words spoken. Today's post could not have happened if not for the pointer from you, my friend. You had already explored and graciously pointed to the truth to the ignorant.

A traditional hindu ritual that adorns every door step is kolam. Simple beautiful art that keeps the entrance bright and beautiful. The first thing done on waking up is to clean the entrance, sweep and mop, then draw this simple art form with rice powder called kolam. It is said that the reason why rice powder is used is to feed the ants which may visit. The significance of kolam brings in auspiciousness and therefore from simple to much elaborated, kolams find place in festivals, marriages and any occasion.

Basically kolam consists of both dots and a line that connects them. Filling up the drawn patterns with various colours or flowers is done on special occasions to make it more brighter and beautiful. Everyday ritual consists usually of a simple dots kolam.

Take a look at this kolam. If you keenly observe, you would notice the dots. First the dots are placed and then the line is connected.

Let us assume if one stops with just placing the dots, then it would remain as some scattered dots and never would get that feel of completeness and beauty. But when connected with a line, one would see the emergence of kolam in all its splendour.

Relating to life, it is so similar. Seen just as dots -people, incidents etc, it leaves one confused and puzzled. But when benediction is bestowed to see the unseen chord of consciousness connecting all the dots, wow!! Kolam of life shines in the heart of your shrine.

Every kolam is complete by itself however small it may be, like every incident or every moment. But the beauty is every tiny kolam has the potential possibility to be expanded into unknown yet another kolam. So is it with every moment, complete by itself yet ever expanding with the uninterrupted connectivity.

Exploring into that unknown kolam of life as it gets expanded is all about living. Flowing with the life line chord called consciousness, uninterrupted it goes on and never it would miss a moment of this colourful Kolam of life. Combination of both the dark and lighter shades only make it even more colourful, similar to the dark and lighter side of life events. Imagine one singular colour and what a dull look it may be.

Our rich culture has never failed to impart the beauty of reality. Its always fresh and new kolam that adorns the doorstep every day. This goes to show how important it is to be in the present. However beautiful it may be, the old one is cleared to give way for the new. Yet another moment to explore the expanded connectivity of divinity.

Not necessarily only a monk in a monastery in a meditative way has to perform a "Mandala". Every individual has a choice to begin his day in the most meditative way if only one does not confine oneself to just rituals but becomes aware of the essence of it and rises beyond the monotony.

Whether a conch or a lotus in kolam, the kolam of life would remain silently shining.
As a kid, we are taught the alphabets. Then moving on further the words are formed using the same alphabets. From letters to words it begins but later we master the art of deciphering the letters from the words even unknown. It just indicates the inter-connectedness.

Similarly, life experiences begin with a lot of asking with "Why, What and When ? ". Understanding them all from the realm of the mind seems challenging and the only mission of this birth. It might comprise of simple ones to the most complicated. Eventually and invariably with all the explanations derived from various minds, it becomes an additional burden of just information. Rare few life experiences leave one with the attitude for exploring further.

One such most vital one is "meeting the master ". Again, here too the asking does not stop but there is definitely a shift in that asking. One more set of information and the mind is stuck, then it is doomed. But if the asking leads to the unlearning, the pathless-path shines brighter and the mind jumps into the zone of exploring breaking free from the boundaries of fear, insecurity and what not.

All along, if one keenly notices, the asking slowly thins down to just attuning. This can not be DONE but can only be graced by Him. One can sit for meditation for hours and hours and continue different techniques and practices for years and years. Unless one is available to the grace, the nectar of divine eludes. Graced, the ocean of divinity is unstoppable.

Bridging the gap of asking to attuning and transforming knowledge into wisdom, may we seek His ever abundant grace and never miss a moment to be available.

Waking up this morning to the melody of an unknown bird, the urge to rush to watch the bird itself live was totally missing. Momentfull listening to the unchained melody of an unknown bird was only there. From just some listening it was indeed a well listening which can be refined in term as tuning -in.

Freedom felt so immensely even from the desire to know or watch the bird brought insights into our simple everyday living. Nothing wrong in going for watching or knowing the bird, but simply listening to it fully first has its own powerful insights. Some moments later, the song of the bird no longer could be heard and the longing to hear it too was not there at all. May be this is what utter completeness is all about, i felt.

A friend once mentioned as "Freebird" when asked whats happening. Meant the rest of family members are away and so that person said as freebird. Its common usage to say like that meaning no liabilities or responsibilities but just all by oneself.

Watching a bird flying, we never ever associate its responsibilities hidden beneath its wings. It also searches for food, builds nest, lays eggs and the process goes on. But none of these seem to burden the flight though they are right there as a part of it, hidden to our sights. What is that makes them superior or special to enjoy that freedom despite the same responsibilities that seem to tag them too? Deeper pondering reveals the mind's game in a human being and unveils the illusion.

Freedomfull fun as i may wish to call is an exclusive package to every human being. Taste of freedom takes you higher and higher as a flight of the bird and never would let the responsibilities burden your flight. Rather, they remain hidden right beneath our own wings. Greater the responsibilities, lighter the flight, it seems, simply because of that freedomfull fun.
Every seed essentially
a potential tree
The seed bursts open to reveal
and become the tree
The tree is just an expression
potential of the unmanifested
Manifested as tree
mind blowing to the world
Unmanifested as seed
goes unnoticed to many
The few chosen know
the potential.
Born as a seed
blossoming as the tree
In this soil of body
blessed it is indeed.
Let the grace bestow
the best of soil
and all the support
for the blossoming to happen.
May the seed be known
May the knowing become the Being
May the tree of awareness
Stand tall and remain grateful
To the ever existing existence.
Wishing all my beloved ones
Nothing less than the bursting open
Of this eternal truth
buried in one's own self.
The wind that entered my window
just like the mother's embrace
around the new born
so fresh and new
loved it, loved it totally....

yet another in time
same old friend of mine
came to visit me
totally in a different way

like a wild wave of the ocean
screaming and roaring it came
startled and scared i became
saw some of them
slashed to the ground

people called it a storm
none loved it sadly
though the same wind
this time waited for it
to take away its arms around me
hated it, hated it totally

wait a minute, said the mind
when it realized the force behind
revelation found the words
as it followed...
Everyday, the pigeons come to drink the water kept in a bowl in the balcony. They take a sip or a dip sometime and sit for a while and take off. Recently, one day, i noticed one pigeon, trying to pull the dried twigs from the base of the palm tree, succeeded sometimes and took it along and came back swiftly to continue in its mission. So it was obvious it is building the nest. But what brought the turn is amazing. After its trial with palm tree, it moved on to the other pot which had small flowering plant. Though there were no dried twigs for it to collect, it started to pull the fresh green twigs and since it is a small plant, the whole plant was almost getting uprooted. Since the roots were pretty strong , it could not succeed but had done enough damage to shake it . It didnt stop there but now continued to the next level with its intention to collect the twigs to build its nest. Now, it focused on the tip and was trying to nib it, still could not get them, finally flew away.

Watching this unfolding of an unusual action by a small bird, i was wondering if one has to name it, what would it be? Call it selfish to the extent of even uprooting a plant or just look at it as an innate built in system to build its nest? Am not sure about the naming of the act but one thing strikes me at this point is, more than the act itself, it is the naming that arises out of judgement that causes all the trouble.

From the bird's point of view, it was just collecting the material to the best of its ability. From the plant's point of view, it was put into suffering by continuous shaking and uprooting. It is like the death of the plant provides the base(twigs) for the birth of another's life. May be, thats the way the wheel of existence goes on. who knows.

Somewhat similar is with people who consider themselves greater when they are pure vegetarians. Greens are totally uprooted in some cases and finds its place in the platter with a golden crown.(the most nutritious)
It is the death of the plant that nourishes the life of another. Sounds terrible, isnt it?? even if it is the fact. Killing an animal for food is accepted as cruel but not a plant. How strange are the ways of the mind??

It is not about vegetarians or non-vegetarians who is purer or who is cruel, but why cant we just look at it as food and stop judging. Who are we to pass on judgement on anything? Existence knows better and just allow it to function as it is meant to be. Not just with food, everything in our day to day life, probably gets crucified once brought under this system of judgement. It is not just about what we judge, it is all about our own suffocation of concepts.

Shall we free ourselves from this suffocation by simply not judging but simply seeing them all as it is?

In India, its very common to experience the power failure, regular scheduled power cuts etc. Now, to call it a curse or name it a blessing or simply go with it is purely one's own state of mind.

What it would be if everything is planned and executed as scheduled without any interruptions? absolutely heavenly? may be so, it may sound and appear too. But over a period, if we look closely, the extent of non functioning of the mind in the areas of creativity, adaptability and attunement will be revealed. Next the alarming bell will ring loudly if any slight disruption happens in the planning.

Watching this episode of power cuts and its effects on human beings, it is very interesting to study the different aspects of the ever mysterious mind. In some cities, they have scheduled power cuts and so people are used to fit in their power requirements and functioning accordingly. So here too certain planning goes on to fit in with known changes. But, the beauty begins with regions where there is absolutely no clue about the time schedule of power cuts. One never knows when it will be cut and when it would be revived. Now, this can really topple one's day especially if one is more dependent on power.

Handling the same situation of unknown, unscheduled power cuts, the perception of each individual can be seen vividly. This can be one of the greatest tests to just check one's availability to the moment. A person who always invariably living in fear and doubt tends to keep murmuring(it may go now) and thinking of the future(anytime possibility of the power cut) even as he keeps doing things in the present moment where the power is very much available. This is a very clear indication of missing the moment. Whereas, some may just keep doing things according to the power availability and would simply adapt to the situation when its no longer there too. There is no fear or hurry in the activity. There is only adaptability simply because that mind is simply totally in the moment and hence its available to the present moment as it is. This has nothing to do with success or failure. The job to be completed may not happen but then it has no influence on the individual.

Life by itself is nothing but full of uncertainty and thats what i feel makes it full of fun. But, it is one's attitude towards it that makes the difference. For some life is nothing but all the time fighting with it but for few its nothing but fun.

So next time when such uncertainties strike us, lets us be clear that no powercut can topple us if only the power within us remains connected well. One needs to check the power chord connection within and not be bothered with the cut in power outside. So lets get our inner power chord rooted well. When there is no cut within, then no outside cut, call it power or anything can shake us. After all, all the fun games outside us is only again and again to take us within and point to the ever existing eternal truth.
